Matt Ellmer's Ben Nevis Challenge - Post Event Summary
On Saturday 23rd June 2018 Matt Ellmer, The Regimental Casualty Officer lead a party of 47 to the summit of Ben Nevis. Consisting of past and present Grenadiers, family members and friends of the Regiment and including a double amputee, a Grenadier who had received life changing injuries and the sister of a Guardsman that had been killed on operations they all reached the summit, showing great determination and good humour under what can only be described as very challenging circumstances!
The links below highlight the consequences of military action and the life long liability that families and friends have to deal with, as they say ‘you never get over it, you just learn to live with it’.
