URGENT - TO THOSE WHO KNEW CAPT ROBERT NAIRAC WELL.......

5 June 2017

Dear All,

This is for anyone who knew Robert Nairac and, SPECIFICALLY, can remember him being in the 1st Battalion in late 1975/early 1976.

You will recall that:

1. The Battalion was in Chelsea in Dec 75 and moved to Elizabeth Barracks Pirbright.

2. In mid January 76, the Battalion deployed to Kenya. On deployment it was commanded by Bernard Gordon Lennox who handed over command to his Brother, David, in Kenya.

3. Robert Nairac was the Recce Pl Comd, so this email is targeting:

a. Anyone in the Recce Platoon or,

b. In Support Company or,

c. Another officer

who can remember him, in the period between the end of Christmas leave in late December and deploying to Kenya around 13th January, getting his platoon ready to go to Kenya, being 'about' in the Battalion at Pirbright. Or someone who can remember being on the same flight to Kenya....(Adv Pty or Main Body....?)

Also, at the link below is a photo of Robert and David Sewell attired ''Scottishly! It may have been for some Hogmanay/New Year party..... Can anyone remember what/when.....?
