23012387 Mr Cecil Bernard Robertson

It is with great sadness we report the death of former Lance Corporal Cecil Robertson who served in Number One Company of the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards from 1954 to 1956 in Egypt, Fayid and Port Said. He was Battalion Physical Training Instructor, and British Forces High Jump Champion in Egypt 1954. He have lived in Portugal for the past 40 years after he retired from the Metropolitan Police. He served with the Police for 30 years and was an anti-terrorist Dog Handler. He was at the Iranian Embassy Siege and trained with the Special Forces. He died on 11th May 2024 at the age of 88 in the Faro Hospital, Algarve, Portugal, and was cremated at Faro Crematorium. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.

We thank him for his service in our great Regiment and may he rest in peace.
