Officers Personal Occurrence - Lieutenant Colonel Henry Hanning

Lieutenant Colonel Henry Hanning died peacefully at home on 22nd February 2019, following a short illness.
Henry, the son of a Grenadier, joined the Regiment in 1959 after reading English at Oxford. This was the start of his continuing service for 48 years. He served in BAOR, Cyprus, the Trucial States, Belize, Hong Kong and Northern Ireland. For 30 years he edited the Grenadier Gazette. As the Regiment's 350th Anniversary approached, he agreed to write its history from 1656-2006 in his most informative and readable book "The British Grenadiers".
The funeral service will be held at 11.30am on Wednesday 13th March at St George's Church, Wash Common, Newbury RG14 6NU. All Grenadiers are welcome to attend.
