Funeral of 2623767 Joseph P Whelan

Grenadiers,

Sadly, I must report the death of 2623767 Joseph P Whelan, who passed away peacefully in his own home on Monday 21st October, at the age of 94.

Joe's Family writes:

His passing was expected and will leave a huge void in our lives, he leaves us with a lifetime of memories as a loving and devoted Husband and a wonderful Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. Joe had many happy reflections of his time in the Grenadier Guards and I know he valued the ongoing communications through you [Yorkshire Branch] regarding former fellow serving Grenadiers.

His funeral service will be held at 1420hrs on Wednesday 30th October at Wakefield Crematorium, Stanbridge Lane, Kettlethorpe, Crigglestone, Wakefield, WF4 3JA. This will be followed by a reception at a local Public House in Stanley.

No flowers please, and a collection plate will be available for donations to The Colonel’s Fund.
