Death of Mrs Sheila Eastwood

Grenadiers, I have today been notified of the death, yesterday, of Mrs Sheila Eastwood, wife of the late Major (QM) Jim Eastwood LVO, MBE who died in 2016 (obituary in the 2017 Gazette).

Together they were married for 56 years and Sheila travelled the world with Jim, supporting him in all his appointments; as Sergeant Major (1972-74) and Quartermaster (1980-83) of the 1st Battalion before Jim was selected by Her Majesty as the Superintendent of Windsor Castle in 1984. They lived in Garter House for 11 years, a period which included the great fire in 1992.

They had 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren and, at the last count, 4 great grandchildren.
